Icebound is about strength, survival and isolation. Using thick palette knife textures and layers of blue and white, I wanted the painting to feel cool, heavy and quiet. The polar bear stands as a symbol of resilience, but also vulnerability, surrounded by a frozen landscape that feels both powerful and fragile at the same time.
